Wokingham Borough Council Big Tidy Up 2010Sun 21st March 2010
The annual litter pick was successful once again, if success is measured in the amount of litter collected. We ended up with 59 bags of rubbish; 27 bags of cans and plastic bottles; 7 bags plus 1 box glass bottles. Not forgetting 3 settee cushions, 10 bundles of freebie newspapers (undelivered), 2 car batteries and a hub cap. And a WBC black recycling box (which we did!) More significant was the number of people who turned out, on what was actually a lovely warm spring day. We had 8 adults and 2 children along the Thames, 6 adults and 4 children from Wellington Grange, 15 adults in the morning group around the Interpretation Centre, and 16 adults and 10 children in the afternoon group. Well done everyone!
