The Reading Amphibian and Reptile Survey (RARS) project aims to shed light on the numbers of reptiles and amphibians in urban gardens and parks and to try to find out what favours the presence of amphibians and reptiles. The optimal time to survey for reptiles is between March and June, so the project will take place during these months.

RARS is a collaboration of the University of Reading and the University of Uppsala (Sweden). Its findings will be used for the master thesis of Stephanie Falk from the University of Uppsala.

Stephanie is looking for participants for this project. At the moment the survey is focussed only on Earley and Woodley. If you live in either of them please have a look at the website. If you know someone who lives in Earley or Woodley and might be interested in taking part please let them know about the project.

For more information and to volunteer your garden for the survey, please go to the RARS website.
