University of Reading Sibly Hall Redevelopment

On Tuesday 10th August. representatives from Reading University and their consultants will be appearing before the Planning Committee of Earley Town Council, to give a short presentation on the University's proposals for the redevelopment of the Sibly Hall site.

The meeting will take place at 7.30pm at the Council Offices, Radstock Lane. As with all council meetings, members of the public may attend, but will not necessarily be allowed to speak at the meeting.

To date, no formal planning application has been submitted for redevelopment of the site. One application, SO/2010/1544, has been submitted essentially as a request for information. This has confirmed that a full Environmental Impact Statement will be required with any development planning application, because the outline plans show encroachment onto a 15m buffer zone around Redhatch Copse, and also that the Highways department of WBC believe local traffic will be affected by the proposed development.
