Kennet Meadows Saved

Pruprim, the development company owned by Prudential, have dropped controversial plans to develop 7500 houses on the Kennet floodplain to the south of Reading. The development company claims that the development could no longer "deliver appropriate returns for the risk involved."

Hopes are now high that the area can be turned into a wildlife trust to prevent it becoming the target for developers when economic circumstances change.
