Sun 22nd March 2015

The Huge Earley Litter Pick (or HELP) was blessed with a beautiful sunny day on Sunday March 22nd for its Springtime clearing of litter from Earley's footpaths and parkland areas. Amongst the nearly 60 volunteers setting off from the Interpretation Centre in Instow Road were the Mayor of Earley, Linda Chambers, and members of 99th Reading scouts.

Over 60 bin bags of rubbish were collected, some of which was able to be recycled. Senior Park Ranger Grahame Hawker said 'the event was a great success, especially as with more people than last year we collected less litter!'

This is a joint event between Earley Town Council, Earley Environmental Group, EASI (Earley Adopt A Street Initiative) and Wokingham Borough Council. Most of Earley's roads now have EASI volunteers who keep their streets clear of litter all year round. There are a few roads where help is still needed, for more information please contact Brian on 0118 9861115.
